(DAY 2) THE FIRST-INSTANCE TRIAL OF MR. NGUYEN CHI HIEN - FORMER VICE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF PHU YEN PROVINCE

On the morning of October 17, the People's Court of Phu Yen province held a first-instance trial of the case "Violation of regulations on management and use of state assets, causing loss and waste" in the process of selling 262 land lots in Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Hien, born in 1960, holds a bachelor's degree in economics and advanced political theory. Mr. Nguyen is the Standing Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee. Before that, Mr. Hien was the Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Phu Yen province.

According to Clause 3, Article 219 of the Penal Code, Mr. Nguyen Chi Hien and other defendants in this case were prosecuted for the crime of "Violating regulations on management and use of state property, causing loss and waste" under Clause 3, Article 219 of the Criminal Code 2015.

Lawyer Le Nguyen Hoa, Lawyer Tran Van Su of LHLegal Law Firm will participate in defense for Mr. Nguyen Chi Hien (Former Vice Chairman of The People's Committee of Phu Yen Province).

The trial is scheduled to take place from October 17 to 19.
